Female Infertility
Problems in the ovulation process are the cause of most infertility cases for women. Without ovulation, there are no eggs to be fertilized. Signs that a woman is not ovulating normally include irregular or absent menstrual periods.
Less common causes of female infertility include:
- blocked fallopian tubes
- physical problems with the uterus
- uterine fibroids
Variables that can affect a woman’s fertility include:
- age
- poor diet
- weight
- stress
- smoking
- alcohol consumption
- strenuous athletic training
- STDs
