Interventional Radiology

What is Interventional Radiology?

Interventional Radiology is a process that focuses on using minimally invasive image-guided procedures to identify and treat diseases in almost every organ and organ system of the body. Through the use of X-rays, CT, ultrasound, MRI and other imaging methods, radiologists can direct interventional instruments through the body. While more traditional surgeries rely on large incisions, interventional radiology relies on needles and narrow tubes called catheters to diagnose and treat patients.
